In some versions, El Diablito is said to cause trouble by playing pranks on people, while in others, he is more sinister and is believed to be a tempter who tries to lead people astray from their faith.
Despite his reputation as a troublemaker, El Diablito is also viewed as a symbol of rebellion and resistance against authority, particularly in Mexican culture where he is often associated with the Day of the Dead festival and other celebrations that celebrate life and death.
