The Hobby boxes are not a release that will attract people who are mostly interested in "base cards." (A master set has 2597 cards by my count.) The attraction is the huge variety of signed cards, personally worn clothing or memorabilia, parallel cards, and combinations of them all. The Hobby and Retail editions for the "Stars" main set of 100 cards and the "SP Commons" set of 70 cards each have three levels of parallel Proof cards (with holographic highlights in silver, gold, and platinum). Hobby boxes have four other partial parallel sets, while Retail boxes have five other parallel series.
