Airbus is an aircraft manufacturing company founded in 1969, fomerly as European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company. It is based in a suburb of Toulouse in France, with production facilities also in Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom while it employs around 63.000 people.

The company produced the first the Fly-by-wire airliner, the A320 and the currently largest passenger plane the A320.

The company produced the first the Fly-by-wire airliner, the A320 and the currently largest passenger plane the A320.

Its first aircraft was the A300. A twin engined, 300+ seater aircraft which started in blueprints back in 1967 entering service in 1974 and is still flying for several airlines around the world today, while it is dearly preferred as a cargo plane.  

Airbus is also entering the Military air market with its A400M since 2008 using four propelled engines as a tactical airlift carrier. While in the late 1990s the A310MRTT and A300MRTT were used as a MULTI ROLE TANKER TRANSPORT.
