Alberto Ascari was an Italian Formula 1 driver, who won two World Championships in 1952 and 1953. He was considered one of the best drivers of the time and still holds a number of records, including the most consecutive wins in Formula 1. After the death in an accident at Monza (1955), a chicane of the circuit was named "Variante Ascari".
