Amiibo is a toys-to-life platform by Nintendo. It was launched in November 2014 and consists of a wireless communications and storage protocol for connecting figurines to the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch video game consoles.

The Amiibo figures contain an embedded NFC chip that allows transferring save data between the console and figure or unlock special features within a game.
