Something Missing?

After having flown to the North Pole and over the Atlantic, Byrd set his sights to fly to the South Pole. In 1929 he launched his first expedition to Antarctica. The goals were twofold, first, to make the first flight to the South Pole, second, to serve science by bringing experts to study meteorology, geology, zoology, geography, aerial photography and other disciplines.
