Atsushi Ōkubo (大久保篤, Ōkubo Atsushi; born September 20, 1979), romanize as Atsushi Ohkubo, is a Japanese manga author and fantasy artist known for his works, Soul Eater and Fire Force.

Early in his life, he was noted to not exactly be a model student, attracted to drawing more than learning in school. At the age of 20 after finishing his studies at manga school, he met Rando Ayamine, artist of GetBackers.. He became his assistant for two years before he left to work on his own series, B. Ichi.

At the age of 20 after finishing his studies at manga school, he met Rando Ayamine, artist of GetBackers.. He became his assistant for two years before he left to work on his own series, B. Ichi.

He won a competition at Square Enix's Gangan magazine with his first manga series, B.Ichi, and it was published in four volumes. After the end of his last manga. He would work to create Soul Eater, still for Gangan. The series became critically acclaimed and gave him worldwide success.

After the series' end, he explored a little bit more of Soul Eater's world in Soul Eater Not!, a side story to the main series that ended in 5 volumes.

In 2013, Ōkubo designed characters for the Nintendo 3DS title, Bravely Default.

In 2015, he started working on Fire Force, published in Weekly Shōnen Magazine, making it the first weekly manga Ōkubo has done.
