The Black Forest is a large forested mountain range in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwestern Germany. It is bounded by the Rhine valley to the west and south. Its highest peak is the Feldberg with an elevation of 4,900 feet. The region is almost rectangular in shape with a length of 100 miles and breadth of up to 35 miles.
