Black Knight (Nathan Garrett)

Marvel | Character

Something Missing?

From Earth-616, once a Professor at Oxford he was respected internationally as a brilliant research scientist and inventor with a specialty in genetic manipulation. He is a descendent of Sir Percey of Scandia, the Authurian Black Knight, but lacked a heroic nature. As a result when he visited his inherited Garret Castle where Sir Percy of Scandia was buried with the Black Knights's Ebony Blade, he was unworthy of drawing the blade from it's scabbard. He later became the head of an espionage ring in America, where he devised a costume identity using a mutated horse (Elendil) and gave it wings, an armored costume, and a power lance he created himself. He later admitted to his nephew Dane Whitman, that he regretted the choices he made and his research should be used for good, not evil. Upon Nathan's death, Dane Whitman inheritted the Garrett Castle and Black Knight mantle.
