Something Missing?

Denis Carrara builds collectible handmade automobiles. His workshop is on the via Volterana in Cerbaia. Born in 1980 in San Mauro a Signa, Denis began playing with toy cars when he was little. The difference is that he always dreamed about and wanted to build them by himself.

Denis began by frequenting the shop of artisan, Umberto Codolo. He observed and picked up the secrets and rudiments of assembly. Soon afterwards, he met Valerio Barnini, another builder of autos in scale, specialized in artisanal models and the creation of assembly kits that were once popular.

Opening his own company CARRARA in 2005, CarPin Models is his first line of 1:43 scale model cars created for fans of racing versions, supported by Rok Models with models in road or racing versions. These two lines are only produced assembled, guaranteeing an excellent quality-price ratio. For lovers of more detailed models with careful workmanship, there is the CarPin Models Special line, followed by CarPin Models Japan, special models made for the Japanese market.

The use of specific equipment such as lathe, milling cutter, machinery for metal casting, etc. allows me to follow the complete process from the prototype phase to production.

Currently the new and unique Carrara Models line is produced and marketed in small series with two types of assembly: Standard and Special which differ, in addition to the presentation of the model on a wooden base and box rather than on a plastic base with display case, in details and finishes of the interior and exterior of the model.
