The business was founded in 1958 by the De Wit brothers from Hillegom. They started by driving sand from the dune area, transporting building materials and turf, and also heating oil for horticulture. Over the years the company has grown enormously and in the 90s De Wit Transport was taken over by the son, Cees jr. De Wit. They transport to various countries in Europe.
In 2013 they started an extra specialization, namely the flower & plant transport and have expanded this considerably. Shortly thereafter they expanded their services with container transport. They have also been driving tank containers since 2015.
