Dek was a young Yautja, son of the clan leader Njohrr, who became an outcast after being considered as weak by his father. Looking for a way to earn the respect of his father, and place in his clan, Dek traveled to the planet Kalisk, where he expected to hunt his ultimate adversary: an unkillable creature feared even by his father. While he was there, he forged an alliance with the synthetic Thia while he continued the search for the beast.
