Dianoga were cephalopods indigenous to the planet Vodran. The seven-tentacled creature could also be found lurking in the trash compactors located on the original Death Star. Luke Skywalker had a run-in with a Dianoga aboard the Death Star during his daring rescue of Princess Leia, in which the creature pulled the young Jedi under the watery debris.
