Dickie Spielzeug (Dickie Toys) was founded in 1971 by Wolfgang Sauerborn. After his death in 1993, Simba Toys took over this company. Dickie Spielzeug of Fürth, Bavaria is the company, which now owns the Schuco brand name. Besides still using its own name they also use the Simba name to market toy products by various manufacturers, mostly from the Far East. Some products are offered in North America as well, such as the Dickie-Schuco line of 1:87 scale diecast metal vehicles. The models represent European cars and at least one panel van not seen on the roads of America. Each is identified with an "HF" reference number on the plastic baseplate, just like the classics in the Reader's Digest range. It appears by examining the packaging, High Speed produced the models and Dickie-Schuco secured the required licensing and distributes them.
