Dixie Chicks

Musical Group

Something Missing?

The Dixie Chicks are a country music band which has also crossed over into pop and alternative country, formed in 1989. The founding members (and sisters) are Martie Erwin Maguire and Emily Erwin Robison, and lead singer Natalie Maines, were originally four women performing bluegrass and country music, busking and touring the bluegrass festival circuits and small venues for six years without attracting a major label. After they replaced their departed lead singer and changed their repertoire slightly, they achieved commercial success in 1998 with hit songs "There's Your Trouble" and "Wide Open Spaces".
