Euro-Express Treincharter (EETC)

Train Company

Something Missing?

The Dutch company Euro-Express Train Charter (EETC) was established in 1996 and started as a tour operator who organized winter sports travel by train to Austria. In December 1996 'The Ski-Train' made its first trip to Austria. Since 2002, in addition to 'The Ski-Train', EETC also provided the 'Alpen Express', taken over from NS International. The summery 'AutoSlaapTrein' was also taken over by EETC and the company drove the pilgrimage trains to Lourdes for some time .

In 2003 and 2004, EETC took over a large number of coaches from NS International that were used on its own trains and for transport for third parties. This changed the company from a tour operator to a carrier with its own equipment fleet.

From 1 July 2010, EETC was an independent rail transport operator and since December 2013, EETC has also provided traction for its trains itself.

On 15 April 2015, EETC announced that it would terminate its activities immediately, in its own words because of sharply increased costs for running the trains.
