Something Missing?

The railway transport A.-G was founded on November 24, 1899. The establishment took place by the assumption of the existing since 1897 German Waggon-borrowing G. m. b. H. as Deutsche Waggon-Leihanstalt Aktien-Gesellschaft. In 1917 the integration of Wagenbau AG, Wismar, and the renaming into "Eisenbahn-Verkehrsmittel AG", in short "EVA" took place.

1943 followed a participation in the railcar and wagon factory Wismar AG, Seestadt Wismar and the Waggon factory AG, Uerdingen (Lower Rhine). 1948 the seat of the society was shifted to Duesseldorf. In 2002, the company merged with VTG-Lehnkering AG, which was then a subsidiary of Hapag-Lloyd and TUI, after several renames and mergers. Since June 28, 2007, VTG AG has been listed on the stock exchange.

The business area was before the Second World War rental and purchase of locomotives, tenders, motor vehicles, railway and tram cars, tankers, tank farms and the like, as well as tank farm. At its founding in 1899, this was a new business field in Germany . Today (as of 2010), this is done without locomotives, tender, motor and tram cars. Tank wagons with the EVA logo are still to be found on European railways since they were not repainted after their acquisition by VTG in 2002.
