In 1999 First Plus Financial was sued by Elliott-Marrino Motorsports LLC for failing to make $1.7 Million in payments from it's 1997 contract. They also sued for $200,000 on a separate contract to promote a FirstPlus subsidiary, Vanstar Corp.
The NASCAR racing team that once promoted FirstPlus Financial Group Inc. is now suing the Dallas-based lender for almost $2 million.
