The Gmundner Molkerei reg.Gen.mbH is one of the largest dairy manufacturing plants in Austria. The company headquarters is the municipality Gmunden in Upper Austria.

The company, which is still cooperative, traces its origins back to the dairy cooperative Traunsee in Ebensee, which was founded on June 28, 1931 by 40 farmers. After expansion of the site took place in 1938 renamed the dairy cooperative Gmunden, reg.Gen.mbH, operation Ebensee. Between 1950 and 1952, a new establishment was built in Gmunden. In 1953, the company merged with the Milchliefergenossenschaft Bad Ischl. In addition to several extensions 1966, the private dairy Hans Kolm in Seewalchen am Attersee added in 1972 the merger with the cooperativeLederau. After renewed extensions, numerous mergers were again carried out in the 1990s (for example, with the dairy cooperatives Wartberg an der Krems, Vorchdorf, Vöcklamarkt, Dorf an der Pram, the cheese cooperative Lengau and the private dairy Pillichshammer). After Austria's accession to the EU in 1995, the first exports began. In 1996 the brand Gmundner Milch was established. In the following years, new takeovers took place (Almliesl Central Dairy) and accessions (Almtaler Dairy Wührer, Dairy CooperativeWaidhofen an der Ybbs) , in 2006 the merger with the Dairy Cooperative Freistadt.
