Something Missing?

Greenwood Entertainment was a German developer and publisher of computer games. It was founded in Bochum in 1994 by Markus Scheer as an addition to his Art Department studio, which specializes in advertising games, and was intended to focus on high-quality full-price games. In the years that followed, Greenwood Entertainment became known for its business simulations and management games such as The Planner 1 and 2, Mad TV 2 and ran Trainer, which appeared for the PC.

In addition to own developments, games from other studios were also brought to Germany. So Greenwood took over the German version of the action-adventure Realms of the Haunting from Gremlin. Also in cooperation with Gremlin, ran Soccer was created on the basis of Actua Soccer, starting signal for the Actua and the ran series.

In 1997 the company was absorbed by its parent company, which became Phenomedia in 1999. Since that time, Greenwood Entertainment has ceased to appear as a developer. This is how The Planner 3 was developed by Madcat Interactive Software for Phenomedia.

Most recently, the name Greenwood Entertainment was briefly used by Phenomedia in 2010/2011 as a publishing label, for example for the Finnish adventure Alpha Polaris (2011).
