Note: This catalog location also includes merchandise sold at the original Hard Rock Cafe Johannesburg from the 1990s to 2003. Many Hard Rock collectors describe that location as "renegade," a term that typically means "not licensed." The original Johannesburg cafe was unusual in that regard because it had rights to use the Hard Rock Cafe name, but not the iconic logo. That is why the Hard Rock Cafe logo on early Johannesburg merchandise is different than the classic HRC logo. The original Johannesburg cafe closed in January 2003.
