Heco Miniatures was created in 1979 by Herve Colombet. The company started in the centre town of Saint Etienne. The success of his first creation, the "Bugatti 73A", sold as 300 numbered copies, encouraged him to continue in this direction.
During the first years he manufactured mainly very detailed Bugatti's and Rolls Royce's in 1/43 scale. Otehr French clasic cars and race cars were also made. The company stopped production around 2007.
