Blues pianist George "Honey" Hill cut several sides with blues singer, songwriter and guitarist Bill Gaither for the Decca and Okeh record labels between 1931 and 1941. Gaither was a close friend of the blues pianist Leroy Carr, and the Gaither and Hill duo was patterned after Carr and guitarist Scrapper Blackwell's style and template, even billing themselves as Leroy's Buddy for some sessions.
