To celebrate 30 years of Hot Wheels, Mattel released 30 models—one for each year. Next to those 30 models, a boxed set of those same 30 models was released. All models came in their period appropriate package and in a blue box. Additionally Hot Wheels chose the first original in-house designed concept vehicle the TWIN MILL as a "flagship" to commemorate the series. The Hot Wheels 30th Anniversary features 30 different models that were launched in 1998.
