Something Missing?

The Jaguar Model Club (JMC) was started in the UK in 1996 by Gary Oxley.  It was inexistence for approximately ten years, producing1/43 limited edition handmade Jaguar models.  The original ability to purchase these models required membership in the club.  JMC started producing an annual "Club" model of a notable Jaguar annually in numbered limited runs of 50 models. Members could "subscribe" to receive the same number for each annual release.  In addition, the JMC produced a quarterly members magazine.

The JMC annual models were usually based on Provence Moulage kits and then assembeled and painted by noted UK modeller Ian Burkinshaw.  These models featured photo etch parts and other modifications that were not included in the kits.  This gave the models added realism along with being painted in the correct paintwork of the original car.  In the case of the Jaguar XK180, the model was painted in the same paint as the original concept car!  Each model was mounted on a numbered plinth, which also included signatures of notable principals associated with the car, which also included drivers. These models came in Jaguar Model Club branded boxes.

As the club grew and demand exceeded the original run of fifty models, "Club Models" which were not numbered were sold.  These came in the original Provence Moulage box, but were noted as "Club Models" on the box end flap.  It is not currently known how many of these models were produced.  To satisfy collector demand, Gary Oxley created another series of models which were available in ready built or kit versions.  This was known as the 100 Series and was limited to 100 models which were unique to JMC.  Two models are known to have been made in this series.
