James K Wagner brings a lifetime interest in motor vehicle evolution that began immediately after World War II, and has observed the automotive industry, particularly that of North America, with increasing scrutiny over the ensuring years. As a graduate mechanical engineer, he had a thirty seven year career with Ford Motor Company, most of which was focused on trucks. He has written three truck product histories and co-authored two additional volumes, one relating to passenger cars, the other to a major industry manufacturer, as well as vehicle-oriented magazine articles. He has made presentations to several collector car/truck groups; for many years has been a narrator for the annual Greenfield Village Motor Muster vintage vehicle event; belongs to the Society of Automotive Historians; is a charter member of the SAE History Committee; and Motor Trend magazine's oldest continuous subscriber--(if you include the years the magazine was mistakenly addressed to James Klagner).
Jim resides outside Detroit with his wife of fifty some years and continues to volunteer at the Edison Institute archives. He has three children and six grandchildren, whose vehicular interests span from 1960s muscle cars to commercial aircraft and spacecraft.
