He is the founder and original owner of the Hotel Cortez, and the husband of Elizabeth Johnson (also known as "The Countess"). Mr. March is responsible for hundreds of deaths within the walls of the hotel, who eventually commits suicide to escape imprisonment. In the afterlife, March continues to haunt the halls of the hotel, and allows the other spirits to kill and torture most guests who book a reservation.
