Initiated by Austrian racing driver Jochen Rindt, this was the first ever racing and sports car show held in the German-speaking world.
First held in Vienna in 1965, it lasted at the same venue until 1975 and was finally held in Linz in 1976 and 1977. In the 1970s, some similar shows held in the German cities of Munich, Nuremberg and Essen were also associated with the name of Jochen Rindt.
