Kléber is a Michelin group mid-size tire company from France.
Kléber, as a French subsidiary of BFGoodrich, began operations in July 3, 1910, in Colombes, France. The first tire was also completed on December 08. This is the first significant date in the history of the Kléber brand, which was not officially used until three and a half decades later. Like many other tire manufacturers at this time, Kléber not only produced tires, but also V-belts, seals, and rubber parts. In the 1930s, tires made at the Colombes factory were fitted to Chambord and Versailles cars. In 1935, Kléber also made the first off-road tire with a white sidewall, which at the time was a symbol of the pinnacle of elegance. Kléber already used dogs in his advertising appearances (posters). The white sidewall tire was represented by the proud greyhound, while the traditional line was represented by the German Shepherd. After World War II, the company severed ties with its parent company and moved to Paris, on Avenue Kléber. From here, the brand got its name and the independent logo of the brand was created at this time. Just two years later, their first winter tire - called White Bear - debuted on the French market. All the cars of a dairy company operating at the time had this type of tire. In 1951, Kléber’s famous invention contributed to the development of the tire industry worldwide. The company’s engineers unveiled the first-to-fit, pneumatic tire. In 1968, another Kléber came again, the Boxer tire. By advertising the product, they returned to their old traditions and again promoted it with dogs. A year later, the famous Michèle Mouton finishes first in the World Rally Championship with her Audi, Kléber tires. Later, 3 more victories will be made with Kléber tires in this race. By the 1990s, the brand had already achieved significant market success, signed a cooperation agreement with Renault, and the 1994 Twingo models were first sold in Kléber. At the beginning of the new millennium, the brand introduced the first Dynaxer series, the success of which is unbroken to this day. In 2011, Kléber celebrated its 100th birthday.
