Liliput

Liliput is a model railroad manufacturer established in 1947 in Vienna, Austria. They always were at the forefront of technology, producing for the high end of the market. For example, in the 1970s they were among the first manufacturers who made the UIC-X 26.4 meter coaches true to scale in H0 (before that, their length was usually 'shortened' to 1:100 scale, to facilitate running them on the rather toy like track material commonly in use back then).

Since the takeover by Bachmann Europe PLC in 1992, Liliput models are made in China and have a 'by Bachmann' addendum on the boxes, which makes it easy to differentiate pre and post 1992 models, if the packaging is present.
