In the mid-1960s Lone Star discontinued the 1:50 scale Roadmasters series and began producing a smaller-scale range called "Roadmaster Impy Super Cars"

The size of these models are about three inches (~1:60). They have more opening features than the Roadmaster Series.

In 1969 the series was renamed to "Lone Star Flyers", coinciding with the fitting of low friction wheels on thin wire axles. On some markets the "Impy" name was retained though.

Models of commercial and construction vehicles never received the "Flyers" brand name; they were called "Lone Star Commercials" for a while before reverting to "Impy".

Eventually the whole range was put under the "Impy" name once again in the late 1970s.
