Series 1: Mystery of the Thanostones

Marvel BattleWorld: Mystery of the Thanostones, usually referred to more simply as Marvel BattleWorld is a hybrid board game / collectible miniature figure toyline produced by Funko. Loosely inspired by the Secret Wars event books, BattleWorld features a wide assortment of static, unarticulated minifigures featuring various heroes and villains from across the multiverse. Each figure comes with an assortment of hexagonal cards, which allow players to create a modifiable playfield to compete against one another's collections.

The figures are sold in blind bag sets, featuring two characters hidden in cardboard packages called Thanostones. Additional starter sets, called "Mega Packs" were made available featuring an exclusive figure and five additional characters, as well as their associated cards. The figures were initially sold exclusively through Target stores.
