Matchbox Connectables

Series

Something Missing?

Matchbox Connectables were a range of models which closely resembled models from the standard diecast range, but were made entirely from plastic. The models were then produced in two pieces (front and rear) which connected together with 2 pegs, which allowed a mix and match of fronts and rears.

One model, the Lincoln Town Car, was also provided with a central extension unit to make a limo. Later the Lincoln was also sold with a series of cartoonish central sections forming a fleet of 'crazy limos'.

One model, the Lincoln Town Car, was also provided with a central extension unit to make a limo. Later the Lincoln was also sold with a series of cartoonish central sections forming a fleet of 'crazy limos'.

Later other pieces were made available, including bridges which allowed a number of models to be connected together side by side. Planes were also added to the range.

One problem with this range is that many of the models have lost parts over the years, so those found in rummage boxes are often mis-matched front and rears. This is reflected in some of the models listed.
