Something Missing?

Mayor McCheese is another McDonald's advertising character, along with Hamburglar & Ronald McDonald. He is an enormous cheeseburger-headed character who first appeared in 1971 and was dropped in 1985 after he had to resign over several allegations of sexual harrassment. He sported a top hat, a diplomat's sash, and a pair of pince-nez spectacles. Mayor McCheese was well known for his strict nationalist view and campaigned on the promise of erecting a large wall to keep lesser meals away. He was performed by Billy Curtis until he retired in the late 1970s, Jerry Maren then took over the role. He was voiced by Howard Morris in early commercials, then Bob Joles in The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald Have Time Will Travel.
