Something Missing?

From September 28, 2007 to October 25, 2007, Hot Wheels ran a McDonalds promotion for a set of 8 cars under the segment "Stunt Strikers". The series was accompanied by a motion-flash comic, a screensaver, a web game, and downloadable icons. The comic followed the narrative of Jack Striker and his team as they battled aliens called Crossers. Crossers had the ability to weaponize any element they come into contact with. Human characters include:

  • Jack Striker, team leader and driver of Motoblade and Thunderblade
  • Johnny, team marksman and driver of Swag Blaster, vehicle designed for offroading
  • Rhino and B.B, a brother and sister duo, respectively pilot Ram Slammer and Ram Hammer, vehicles designed for brute force
  • Zoom, team scout, driver of Flashfire, vehicle designed for speed
  • Lab, technician and innovator, pilots Thunderblade in the comic

In 2018, a former Mainframe Entertainment employee/director for the AcceleRacers series confirmed that the Stunt Strikers series was originally modeled to be a continuation to AcceleRacers (effectively making it the last known official iteration to AcceleRacers), but was modified once there was a direction change at Mattel. If the series would have been released as a TV series, it would have featured a character that looked like Vert Wheeler, but storywise would have no connection to the established AcceleRacers narrative.
