After the Dublo Dinky range, this was the second attempt by Meccano to compete against Matchbox Miniatures by offering its own range of small-scale diecast models, started in 1968.
The models were made by a subcontractor in Hong Kong, presumably to reduce production cost, and are unfortunately prone to suffering from metal fatigue.
