c. 480 BC/BCE to 300 CE
Eryx was an ancient city and a mountain in the west of Sicily. The coins of the city of Eryx have types allusive to the worship of Venus, while others present a close analogy to those of Agrigentum (modern Agrigento), indicating a connection between the two cities, of which we find no explanation in history. Its earliest coins are of the 5th century BC.
