Perinthus or Perinthos was a great and flourishing town of ancient Thrace, situated on the Propontis. Coins of Perinthus have also survived from the middle of the fourth century, which may have been struck shortly before the famous siege of the town by Philip of Macedon. It then struck quasi-autonomous and Imperial coins until late Roman times.
