Founded by Moses Kohnstam (MoKo) in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany in 1875, the Moko company acted as a distributor for various manufacturers of toys.
An English subsidiary was started in London in 1890 by the founder's son Julius Kohnstam. The German parent company ceased to trade in 1934 when its managers were forced to leave the country.
