Motor City USA | Series

Something Missing?

Expensive, highly-detailed handbuilt 1:43 cars, predominantly made of white metal, and  abbeviated as MOC in collectors circles. The first model was a 1949 DeSoto sedan issued under the brand name Alloy Forms. Subsequently this became known as No. MC-1.

The last new 100% US-built MOC models were made as prototypes in August 2008, and included a 1956 Dodge Royal Lancer hardtop and convertible. A subsequent model, the MC-200 tri-tone 1956 Dodge hardtop, was cast and painted by Brooklin Models with final detailing and packaging in the USA. Around 2010, the rights to Motor City USA were acquired by Jeff Thomas, who released the Dodge as a convertible around 2011 (No. MC-201). No new models have been released since that one and some masters have passed to others.

Models have the prefix "MC-". Occasionally a suffix is used, including "U" to denote a top up convertible and "P" to denote an Indianapolis 500 pace car where the pace car has not been assigned a unique number (MC-62). While almost all models are white metal, a few were made with resin bodies and white metal chassis and seat assemblies. These include MC-60 and MC-62, and (reportedly) reissues of a few previous white metal-bodied models prior to company closure.
