Motorsports Authentics

Brand

Something Missing?

Motorsports Authentics is in a racy business, founded in 2005. The company designed and marketed collector-quality die-cast miniature replicas of NASCAR and other racing vehicles. The firm also sells licensed motorsports apparel (T-shirts, hats, and jackets) and souvenirs and manages race car drivers' fan clubs. Its merchandise was sold in about 45 countries through some 10,000 retailers, 30 trackside stores, and its goracing.com website (defunct). Through an exclusive agreement with QVC, Motorsports Authentics sold directly to its collectors club. The company changed its name from Action Performance when it was acquired by 50:50 partners International Speedway and Speedway Motorsports for $245 million.

Facing bankrupcy, they restructuring in 2010 and trimmed-down to a  company that specializes in trackside retail at racing events, meaning it has shed a portion of its licensing business and all of its collectible diecast car division.  (https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Daily/Issues/2010/07/08/Finance/Motorsports-Authentics-To-Re-Emerge-As-Trimmed-Down-Company.aspx)
