The Muntz Car Company was created in Glendale, California when Earl "Madman" Muntz bought the sports car operation from Kurtis for $200,000. Muntz made changes to the original design, the most obvious being a 13-inch increase in wheelbase thus making the car, now renamed the Muntz Jet, into a true four-seater. The Muntz Jet was available from 1951 through 1954.
