The Other Father is a fictional character featured in Neil Gaiman's novella, Coraline, and its 2009 film adaptation. He is the "Other World" counterpart to Charlie Jones (or Mr. Jones), who appears to enjoy fun, games, and has better skills in cooking and gardening -- unlike Coraline's actual father. The Other Father was created by The Beldam in order to lure Coraline into the Other World, but he was eventually neglected by the being and slowly began to morph back into his true form, which had a similar appearance to that of a squash -- or pumpkin.
