Adrian Alexander Veidt is a former narcissistic genius superhero and billionaire industrialist who draws inspiration from his hero Alexander the Great and the Egyptian pharaoh Ramesses II, from whom he took his name, Ozymandias. He used his company to create a giant monster, which he used to unite the human race through fear, thus ending nuclear war. Years of dissatisfaction of not being recognized for saving the world followed, however. He eventually asked his friend Jon Osterman to send him to a paradise he created on Europa, where he thrived for years until its monotony began to drive him insane. After his escape, he saved the world again, this time from his daughter, only to be arrested by Laurie Blake.
