Something Missing?

Funko's Paka Paka series started as mystery figures packaged in gachapon style plastic balls or capsules. The mystery figures are approximately 2-inches in height. Paka Paka mystery figures were sold from gachapon machines located in retail stores or individual capsules when either a gachapon machine was not available or when purchased online. Each series has multiple variants with a range of distribution ratios. Those distributions include Super Common (1 in 9), Common (1 in 12), Chase (1 in 18), and Hyper Rare (1 in 36). Each series has one dragon "bonus figure" with variations unique to that series with a Hyper Rare (1 in 36) distribution.

The first three mystery figure series released were Kawaii Village Japan, Soda Kats, and Munchies packaged in purple capsules. Each mystery figure series released after those initial three has been packaged in a different capsule color. They were initially available exclusively from either Funko or GameStop/ThinkGeek. That availability later expanded to multiple other retailers.

Due to the popularity of the mystery figures, later releases included plush figures, t-shirts, larger vinyl art toys, and enamel pins.
