Pfälzische railways (often short Pfalzbahn) is the 1844-1908 existing joint direction and management of all private railway companies in the field of Palatinate (Bavaria) referred. The railway directorate was first in the provincial capital Speyer and was later relocated to Ludwigshafen am Rhein.
The society originated with the building of the Pfälzischen Ludwigsbahn by the company of the same name. From 1905, the Bavarian state claimed its right of first refusal. On January 1, 1909, the then largest private railway company in Germany as Royal Bavarian Railway Directorate Ludwigshafen was incorporated into the Bavarian State Railways. With the end of the monarchy, the predicate "Royal" was omitted. According to the ceasefire agreements, the management was occupied on 4 December 1918 by a French field railway department.
