In Formula 1, it bought the ex-Formula 1-factory team of Jaguar racing in 2004, which started in 1998 as Stewart Racing, having been founded by Sir Jackie Stewart. The first RB1-car was raced in 2005. The initial years saw the outfit as a "fun" team and many did not see the advances the team made up to 2009, when it signed a young promising driver: Sebastian Vettel. With Vettel they secured their first win in Formula 1 and also managed to win the first World Championship in 2010. The fairy tale-like story continued and they would win back-to-back championships in the next three years.
