Something Missing?

The Road America 500 is a race event held at Road America Race track, and has been known by many names over the years.

The event first took place in 1950. The race was placed on hiatus after 1968, until 1979.  It was then shortened twice, once in 1988 to 500 KM, and again, in 1991, to 300 KM before being cancelled in 1994.  It was revived in 2002, when it ran as an American Le Mans Series event until 2013, and ran at varying race distances of 2 hours and 45 minutes and 4 hours. In 2014 the race joined the schedule of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship after the merger of the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series contested at IMSA's standard sprint race duration of 2 hours and 40 minutes.
