Satchmo SummerFest, also known as Satchmofest and Satchmo Fest, is an annual jazz music festival in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America. The event is named after jazz musician Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong (1901-1971), who was born and raised in New Orleans, and is held in early August to coincide with his birthday (August 4). The festival was founded in 2001, celebrating what would have been Armstrong's 100th birthday.
