Shawnimals is Shawn Smith, a character designer who portrays his characters with unbridled, astonishing, ridiculous joy. All of his characters comes with its own story that Shawn gives to each person who gets one of his characters, encouraging them to create their own universe and find a spot for his. His characters appear as toys, lifestyle accessories,  apparel, comics, video games and anything else that fosters companionship. He runs Shawnimals in Chicago. He began with just a few simple plush toys, and has branched out into creating 400 characters, each one inspired by Smith's lifelong love of pop-culture.
